Buyers

So, you have finally decided to fulfill a lifelong dream and buy your own home. You are ready to
make your dreams reality by having a place to call your own.

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions you'll ever make. Prepare
by learning about the process of home buying and the responsibilities of homeownership. There
are many differences between buying or renting , and there's a long list of pros and cons for both
options. Before moving forward, though, here are some questions to consider.

Do you have the necessary financial management skills?

How financially stable are you?

Are you ready to take on the responsibility of all the costs involved in homeownership, including
mortgage payments, repairs, and maintenance?

Are you able to devote the time required for home maintenance?

There are pros and cons for both renting and buying. To each their own, each person has their
own individual preference. Buying a home is not for everyone. Take a moment to think through
the advantages and disadvantages of both owning and renting.

If homeownership is for you, you must be both financially and emotionally ready. Buying a
home isn't only about money. Be honest and look at your lifestyle. That should play a major
factor in buying or renting.

Which home is right for you?

How many bedrooms do you need?

How many bathrooms?

Do you need parking? garage space?

Special Features

Do you have family members with special needs?

Do you want a swimming pool or Hot tub?

Do you need storage space?

Needs now and in the Future

When buying a home, you may know what you want now, but thinking longer term is better. Are you
going to live at this place for the next 2, 5, or 10 years? Do you plan on having children? Or do your
current children plan to move out soon? All of these questions and more should be answered before
purchasing your home.

What locations should you choose?

Location is crucial to each individual. Sometimes the home you are looking for may be in
the wrong location. Choose your area wisely and point out the pros and cons of each. A few
questions you may ask yourself are;

Do you want to live in a city, town or in the countryside?

How easy will it be to get to where you work? How much will the commuting cost? Is
public transportation a must?

Where will your children go to school? How will they get there? Are their a variety of
schools in the area?

Do you want to live close to friends and family?
